About Me

My goal as an artist is to create a sense of balance between life’s impermanence, and the human process of documentation. In my art, I paint moments from my personal life that I capture by carrying a camera with me everywhere I go. By capturing personal, specific imagery in a time-honored tradition of classical oil painting, I hope to instill my paintings with a sense of the  preciousness of the moment and melancholy of watching it slip by. With an education from Townsend Atelier in Chattanooga New York Academy of Art, and Florence Academy of Art, I have been painting since 2015 with a persistent interest in memory, color, character, and the interplay of light and shadow. In 2022, I graduated from the University of the South, specializing in Art, Philosophy, and French.

As the first place district winner of the nationwide Congressional Art Competition, my piece “Watercolor Window” hung in the United States Capitol building from 2018-2019. Aside from numerous commissions that I have painted over the years, my work has been featured in the Mudhouse residency final show in Greece, Townsend Atelier’s gallery “Elevate”, in ArtsBuild’s “Ignite”, on the cover of the Calliope Literary Magazine, in the Mountain Goat Literary Magazine, in my solo shows in the Carlos Gallery 2022, Stirling's coffee shop (2018, 2021), and as the runner up of the AVA juried members show.
